Peter E. Godfrey, M.D.

Dr. Godfrey established our practice in Culpeper in 1983. He has had the privilege of delivering several generations of his patients in Culpeper. He has special experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery, being one of the first doctors in Virginia to do a laparoscopic hysterectomy. He also developed the protocol for outpatient hysterectomy. In addition, he has extensive experience in endometriosis, pelvic pain, and menopause. He was named "Doctor of the Year" by Culpeper Regional Hospital in the year 2000. He was also Chairman of the Culpeper Regional Hospital Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2004. Dr. Godfrey is married and has four children. He enjoys reading, travel, and spending time with his family.

Karl M. Beier, M.D.

Karl M. Beier, M.D.

Dr. Beier joined our practice in 2000. He brings a particular interest and expertise in infertility problems and high-risk pregnancy. Dr. Beier has a reputation for giving that extra time and attention when needed. He practiced in Franklin, VA from 1985 to 1999. Dr. Beier volunteers at the Culpeper Free Clinic and the Culpeper Pregnancy Center. He is the current Chairman of the Board for Culpeper Regional Hospital, and was named "Doctor of the Year" by Culpeper Regional Hospital in 2003. Dr. Beier's wife is a former emergency room physician at Culpeper Regional Hospital and they have two children. When not practicing medicine, he is an avid horseman and raises Jack Russell Terriers. He lives on the side of a mountain in Madison County, Virginia.

Melissa C. Reynolds, D.O.

Melissa C. Reynolds, D.O.

Dr. Reynolds joined our practice in 2011. She is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Dr. Reynolds comes to our practice after completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology with East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. During her training, Dr. Reynolds was awarded the Hamid A. Hadi, M.D. Award of Excellence in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Reynolds comes to Blue Ridge OBGYN with the desire to care for the women of Culpeper. She grew up in Maryland and West Virginia and enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and jogging.

Misty R. Shoemaker, D.O.

Misty R. Shoemaker, D.O.

Dr. Shoemaker joined our practice in 2012. She is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Dr. Shoemaker comes to our practice after completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology with Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. During her training, Dr. Shoemaker was awarded the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award. Dr. Shoemaker comes to Blue Ridge OBGYN with the desire to contribute to the health and wellness of the women of Culpeper. She was raised in Tennessee and Florida. Dr. Shoemaker is married and has a daughter. She enjoys sharing art, music, outdoor activities and good food with family and friends.
